Follow the progress of a European digital transition project. Revisit a key milestone for the social economy in Côte d’Ivoire.

Digital technology for social impact: a look back at the DIGI SEII project in Stockholm

Last July, we launched the pilot phase of DIGI SEII (Digital Scaling for Social Enterprises: Empowering Impact and Innovation), a training programme designed to support the digital transition of social enterprises (SE) and the social enterprise support organisations (SESOs) in Europe. Each project partner field-tested the training content (in France, Belgium, Ukraine, Sweden, and Greece), gathering essential feedback from the social entrepreneurs.

From 20–21 August, Anne Lancelot from ScaleChanger joined our European partners in Stockholm for two days of intensive workshops. The goal was to share the lessons learned from the pilot phase and collaboratively build the final version of the training programme.

The result of this collective effort is a comprehensive 20-hour course that stands out by combining two complementary areas of expertise: digital transformation and social enterprise support. It aims to equip participants with the tools to:

  • Understand how digital technology can strengthen their social mission.
  • Identify the opportunities and pitfalls of digital transformation.
  • Adapt the support offered by SESOs.
Learning content

The programme blends different formats, including e-learning modules tailored to each participant’s level, a face-to-face training day, and one to three webinars to delve into specific topics.

The first training sessions will begin in the first quarter of 2026, with recruitment starting in September 2025. ScaleChanger will train 60 social enterprises in France throughout 2026 and 2027.

A look back at one of the highlight of 2025

Last April, ScaleChanger took part in a major event promoting the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Abidjan1, in partnership with the Ivorian SSE Network (RIESS) and the Glory Impact Foundation. This gathering brought together a wide range of stakeholders, from institutions to entrepreneurs, with a shared goal: to make the SSE a key driver of fair, inclusive, and sustainable development.

During the event, we ran a training workshop for 25 support professionals. The aim was to strengthen the skills of support organisations and equip them to better assist impact-driven entrepreneurs. Together, we also explored the obstacles and opportunities for developing social entrepreneurship in Côte d’Ivoire.

Just two days later, on 9 April 2025, the draft law on the SSE was adopted by the Council of Ministers, marking a significant milestone for the sector in the country.

Next up: In November, we’re heading to Benin with SENS Bénin, which supports the creation of social and solidarity enterprises, particularly in the agri-food sector, to foster inclusive and sustainable business models.

We will tell you more soon!
